Chew Bacca (Chewie)
Name: Chew Bacca (Chewie)
Breed: Siberian Husky
Gender: Female
Size: Medium (40-60 lbs)
Age: 3-4 years
About: Chew Bacca is looking for her furever home. This lovely girl recently turned three years old.
Chew Bacca may be a little timid at first but warms to people quickly. She is very affectionate and gives lots of kisses and loves to cuddle. Chewie, as we like to call her, is quick to show you her belly for some tummy rubs and will climb in your lap when you sit on the floor, or on a recliner.
Chewie enjoys going on walks and does well with a collar that prevents pulling.
Chewie’s history isn’t exactly clear, but she may have trust issues with other dogs, at least in the beginning.
Chewie is fostered with two female Siberian Huskies. Her foster home is working with a trainer to help Chewie to overcome her issues with food when it comes to other dogs.
Chewie has improved over the past month and is showing promise integrating with her foster mates.
Chewie’s current play style with other dogs is very rough. She would do best as an only dog or maybe with a dominant male dog.
No cats or small animals for Chewie due to her strong prey drive.
Chewie takes food and treats from your hands very gently. On her trips to the vet’s office, she is a good little co-pilot, sitting nicely in the car. Chewie loves toys and chews! Lots of toys and exercise are a must or she might get bored and resort to her own form of interior renovation.
True to the Siberian Husky breed, Chewie may try to dart out doors and would likely jump a 4ft fence with ease. A secure 6ft fence or a strong lead outside is a must.
Chewie is continuing her crate training, she accepts feeding inside her crate, but gets stressed if no one is in the room with her while in the crate.
Chewie is an adorable, affectionate girl who loves to cuddle with her people. If you’re an active family with time to devote to this loving girl, you and Chewie may be a match for each other!
